An eleven point loss to Wexford brought the down the curtain on Carlow’s 2016 National Football League campaign at Wexford Park yesterday.
A Ciaran Lyng goal gave Wexford a 1-5 to 0-4 lead after twenty minutes, five minutes later a goal from Sean Gannon and a Paul Broderick point narrowed the gap to a single score.
Holding a three point lead at the break the home side steadily pulled away in the last period.
Final Score – Wexford 2-17, Carlow 2-6
