Former Carlow Senior Football goalkeeper John Kearns says that Carlow should focus on the positives despite been wasteful in possession in their last two League games which resulted in defeat.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday night’s game against Louth, John says that Carlow can take great confidence from last years Leinster Championship clash between the two counties.

He said “You can look at the other side of the coin too. Instead of saying we had 10 wides, you could say we had ten more chances to get scores and if we had taken half of them we would have won the game last weekend, try and look at it that way and try and keep things positive of course”.

“It won’t be easy, but again last year Carlow had given Louth a good drubbing there in the Championship, and again they will use that too to kind of spur them too”.

John said “Louth haven’t improved that much since last year and Carlow pretty much the same kind of panel bar one or two players, so listen there is not much difference between the players from this year and last year so I don’t see why Carlow can’t go on and win the game on Saturday night”.
