Carlow GAA have launched their appeal of the suspensions handed down to Turlough O’Brien, Stephen Poacher and Brendan Murphy.
O’Brien (20 weeks), Poacher (12 weeks) and Murphy (12 weeks) were handed suspensions in the wake of conduct towards referee James Bermingham at the end of their Division 3 clash with Down.
The suspensions, revealed last week, would see O’Brien miss virtually all of Carlow’s summer football action, while Poacher and Murphy wouldn’t be available until the closing stages of the Leinster championship, should the county progress along the route.

Carlow lost their round 6 game to Down by a single point when a draw could have saved their Division 3 status.
Instead, they had to travel to Laois in search of a win to close out their league campaign, or hope that Sligo would overcome Offaly.
With neither occurring, the club are back in Division 4 of the National Football League for 2020.
A decision is expected later this week on whether the suspensions will be upheld, reduced, or rescinded.
