With the news that Damien Jordan has been appointed as the Carlow GAA new Hurling Games Development Administrator replacing Benny Kenny, operations manager Ronan Dempsey has outlined some big plans for the clubs within the county.
Speaking with Scoreline, Dempsey said he hoped clubs will have new games development officers available to them soon.
“We’ve spoken to our clubs and kind of outlined, alongside Leinster GAA of the opportunities that a GDO (Games Development Administrator) can bring to each club in Carlow, particularly from a coaching point of view,” said Ronan.
“So we have a handful, five or six clubs who have put their hand up and are willing to take on a GDO in their club and willing to spend that kind of money on a person who will bring up the coaching standards.
“That’s going to be the next level, so we hope to be in a position in mid to late September to roll out a couple of more GDO’s in Carlow which will be great”.
