Carlow hosts the Macau Casino World Matchplay Billiards Championships next week

There will be players from all over the world in Carlow and Graiguecullen this weekend in preparation for the Macau Casino World Matchplay Billiards Championship, which takes place from April 4 to 8.

Inside SBI (Graiguecullen)

Players from all over the world will descend on Carlow and Graiguecullen this weekend ahead of the Macau Casino World Matchplay Billiards championship which takes place from April 4 to 8.

35 of the world’s finest billiard players will compete at the event which is being held at the new state-of-the-art Snooker Billiards Ireland Academy which has recently been opened in Graiguecullen.

There will be competitors from Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, France, Austria, India, Singapore, and Australia competing for the world title and a top prize of more than €3,750.

World champions Dave Causier ( England), Peter Gilchrist ( Singapore), and Sourav Kotharim ( India) will all be there to compete.
