It looks like Carlow Senior Hurlers will have to plan without key forward Marty ‘Mouse’ Kavanagh for the upcoming Joe McDonagh Cup competition.
Kavanagh will travel to America this summer and is not expected to be back in time to play a part in the inaugural competition.
The St Mullins clubman is also likely to miss some Club Championship games as well.
He made his Senior county debut for Carlow while still a Minor in 2012.
Carlow play Kerry on May 5th in the first round of the Joe Mcdonagh Cup.
