Carlow 3-22
Derry 1-09
It was the performance and result that manager Alan Roche would have dreamed of all week as Carlow ran riot against Derry in Abbotstown on Saturday afternoon.
Following their disappointing 0-12 to 0-07 defeat to Antrim at the same venue last weekend, Roche had called on his forwards to be more efficient with their opportunities. They duly obliged.
The Ulster side could not deal with the firepower that the Barrowsiders had at their disposal as three well-taken goals along with fine scores from play and from dead ball situations saw Carlow ease to a deserved and convincing victory.
Next up for Roche’s men is a trip to Pairc Tailteann to take on Meath on March 26th at 2pm.
