Carlow Kilkenny FC have made history by playing their first womens game at under 17’s.
The girls who are managed by Gemma Murphy started their Womens National League campaign away to DLR Waves in Marley Park last Sunday.
DLR Waves came out on top with a two goal victory. Originally Carlow Kilkenny FC were set to have their first game against Treaty United, however that game had to be called off.
Also Kilkenny United Womens team were back in action at the weekend against Newpark AFC.
The senior womens team returned to the pitch for the first time since they found out they would no longer be playing in the Women’s National League.
