In a weekend marked by thrilling hurling action, Carlow’s Conor Lawlor alongside David Blanchfield and Adrian Mullen, have earned well-deserved spots in the GAA Team of the Week. The recognition comes on the heels of Carlow & Kilkenny securing their undefeated streaks in their respective leagues.

The clash at UPMC Nowlan Park against Offaly saw Kilkenny facing a halftime deficit of 14 points to 8. However, Derek Lyng’s side displayed resilience, staging an impressive comeback that proved too much for the visitors. The pivotal moment came with an Eoin Cody goal, sealing a 1-26 to 1-19 victory for Kilkenny.

The outstanding play of Kilkenny’s Adrian Mullen was further acknowledged by the public, who voted him the GAA.ie Hurler of the Week for the second time this month. Mullen, secured an impressive 3,259 votes. His stellar form was once again on display in the match against Offaly, where he contributed significantly with six points from the midfield position.

This victory adds to Kilkenny’s positive start in the Allianz National Hurling League, showcasing their determination to maintain a strong position in Division 1A.

Meanwhile, in Division 2A, Carlow’s Marty Kavanagh delivered an inspired performance, guiding his team to a 1-23 to 0-21 victory away to Laois on Saturday. The win has bolstered Carlow’s hopes of topping Division 2A, setting the stage for an exciting journey ahead.
