Carlow man Sean Doran has completed the Leadville 100.
It’s a 100-mile ultramarathon held annually on trails and dirt roads near Leadville, Colorado, through the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
First run in 1983, the race course climbs and descends 15,600 feet, with elevations ranging from 9,200-12,620 feet.
Sean carried an American flag across the line at the finish and explained on Facebook why “It was my own very small way of saying thank you to every serviceman/woman that ever stood up and was counted to defend the rights and freedoms afforded to me living under this flag. God bless!”
