Carlow Senior Football manager Turlough O’Brien says it’s great to be sharing a sideline with Mickey Harte but feels there is too much talk about the managers and says it’s the players that deserve the spotlight that they should be getting.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s All-Ireland Qualifier against Tyrone, Turlough says the players are now starting to get the exposure they deserve at a higher level.
“It’s Great to share a sideline with these guys, but at the end of the day it’s about the players.
“It’s not really about managers and I think there is too much emphasis on the cult of the Manager, and really it’s about players and what players are prepared to do and what players are prepared to put into it.
“We are very very fortunate that we have a bunch of players who have been exceptional to Carlow for a long number of years and are now getting some sort of exposure at a higher level and they are showing they can compete with the very best in the country,” he said.
