Carlow Senior Football manager Turlough O’Brien was delighted with the battling qualities they showed in drawing their National League clash against Westmeath on Saturday.
Speaking to KCLR after Saturday’s game, Turlough says that Carlow have a lot of elements to their game that were missing for years.
He said “We are up in Division 3, we have won a game and we have drawn a game. I thought the lads showed fantastic battling qualities and character here today (Saturday)”.
“That was a tough game and Westmeath has been marked down as one of the favorites to get out of this Division. We showed here today we are in that League so we are and we can come out of Division Two and we will be in this right to the end”.
Speaking about how they played he said “Very very pleased with the performance, a lot of things to work on at the same time, but I mean you couldn’t ask for more commitment and heart and desire and all things that were missing in Carlow for years they are there in abundance now, and these boys are fighting for every ball as if their life depends on now”.
