Carlow Rowing Club PRO Elaine Grant says their club been mainly a huge success because of the staunch work of some of the long serving committee members.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of their annual Regatta this weekend, Elaine says the club is going as strong as ever.
She said “This year is really special. The club itself is celebrating it’s 160th year, it’s one of the oldest Rowing clubs in the country and is still going and going really really strong”.
“Some of the committee and some of the members that are still with us now are there for over 60 years, the likes of Anthony Dooley and Peadar Doyle and those people so it’s been a huge success for years down to people like that”.
