Carlow Senior Hurling Manager Colm Bonnar says that their is a huge incentive for them to try and win the Joe McDonagh Cup despite the disappointment of been relegated from the McCarthy Cup competition.
Speaking to KCLR after he was ratified for another year as Carlow Hurling Manager for another year last week, Colm says the opportunity to win silverware offers a massive incentive.
He said “That Joe McDonagh competition is an extremely good competition”.
“It’s very very competitive, whatever team, if you can be successful you get a chance to play in Croke Park, you get a chance to win in Croke Park and you get a chance to play in the Liam McCarthy Cup playing the third team in Munster or Leinster so it’s still something to play for and even though it’s another route than we would have had this year for the Liam McCarthy”.
“It’s still a very very positive route and you could get some silverware along the way so yeah, I am really looking forward to it, and it’s going to be hugely important that we set our stall out early”.
