Molly Scott created history on Saturday afternoon in the IUAA Track & Field Intervarsities as she equaled the 60m women’s national senior record before breaking it merely hours later in what was an incredible day for the Carlow athlete.
Scott ran a time of 7.27 to become a joint holder of the record with Amy Foster who originally set the record in 2018 at the National Indoor Arena.
That was only the warm-up however, as the St. Laurence O’Toole’s sprinter became outright holder of the record with a time of 7.23 at the TUS International Arena in Athlone.
An incredible achievement for Scott who adds the national record to her recent call up to Team Ireland for the DNA meet next month.
