The Tesco Ireland U16 camogie championships continued at pace over the weekend with mixed outcomes for Carlow and Kilkenny.
For Carlow, it’s an All-Ireland U16 B semi-final next in the books as they brushed Westmeath aside 6-12 to 2-6. Despite the landslide defeat to Antrim last weekend, Carlow’s opening win against Derry plus the Westmeath win means they finish second in Group 1 and move on to the semi-final stages.
They’ll play Laois on Sunday week (24 July) with the winners set to play either Antrim or Offaly.
Kilkenny, meanwhile, see their U16 championship come to an end despite a win over Galway at the weekend.
The Kittens secured a 2-12 to 2-08 victory against their hosts on Sunday but an inferior scoring difference (-11) means it’s Galway and Cork who progress to the knock-out stages.
