What a year it’s been for John Hanlon!
The John ‘Shark’ Hanlon trained Hewick, a surprise winner of the Galway Plate, the feature on day three of the Galway Festival and the Gold Cup at Sandown, is set to carry top weight in next Wednesday’s Kerry National at Listowel, the feature race of the Listowel Harvest Festival which gets underway this Sunday.

Carlow’s Hanlon says that he is a pleasure to train;
“He definitely goes for it. It is great to have a horse like him because he is a pet so he is.”
“To have a 160-rated horse in the yard is brilliant because he is a good judge for the other horses.”
