Carlow Rising is alive and well with promotion secured for the footballers last weekend.
This Saturday, it’s the turn of Carlow’s senior hurlers who finally get to play out their Division 2A Final. In their way stand Westmeath, and while it won’t be an easy task, Colm Bonnar’s men are well up for it.
It’s the second successive season the sides have met in the final, and with the winners assured a place in the higher echelons of the league, it all comes down to Saturday. We’ll be live in O’Moore Park, Portaloise, as the sides meet with a 3.30pm throw-in.
On Sunday, Turlough O’Brien’s senior footballers can close out their National Football League Division 4 campaign unbeaten, if they get past Laois. It’s a potential pre-cursor for a League Final, though Laois will still need to keep Antrim at bay.
If both sides post a full bill of health, it will be a showdown between Carlow’s Paul Broderick and Gary Walsh of Laois. Broderick has a tidy 2-36 from his 6 league games to date, while Walsh boasts 3-38 from 5 games, leading the Division 4 scoring charts.
We’ll be live in Netwatch Cullen Park for the football at 1pm on Sunday.
