Carlow’s Jasmine Byrne won her debut professional karate bout in Dublin at the weekend.
She went go up against Aleksandra Zgorecka from Poland in what was be the first female Kumite match in the history of WUKF promotion.
Jasmine’s win comes on the heels of her winning gold at the WUKF World Championship in Romania.
The fight took place at the National Basketball Arena on Saturday.
The WMAI/WUKF International Karate Gala 2021 involved competitors and officials from across Ireland, the UK, Poland, Italy, and France.
Previously hosted in Poland, this tournament came to Dublin for the first time.
