One time Carlow Minor Hurler and current Newport County star, Padraig Amond says that Carlow’s results over the past years have proved they are on the way up.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Carlow’s Leinster Championship clash against Dublin next weekend, the 31-year-old says that Carlow’s results have proven they belong at the elite level of Hurling.
“There was a lot of criticism that Offaly were getting relegated last year”, said Almond in speaking to Scoreline.
“They were too big to do down and it wasn’t fair, and we have had a look at the results that they have had since they have dropped back into the Christy Ring.”
“Then you look at how Carlow are doing, it shows that Carlow is on the way-up and long may that continue.”
