Carrickshock are back in the top tier of club hurling in Kilkenny and manager Tommy Shefflin says that they proved the critics wrong who had been questioning their character over the years.
Speaking to KCLR after yesterday’s Intermediate County Final victory over Tullogher-Robercon, Tommy says that they stood up the test when the chips were down.
“They had to dig deep and over the years, people have questioned Carrickshock’s character and bit of bottle but like in fairness to them, against Tullaroan, they had to do it, they showed it, and today again, like the pressure was on, Tullogher had the wind in their back and were down to 14 men. Of course, they had to step up, and again, they stepped up and proved that they have that bottle and a bit of character that it takes to win a Championship in Kilkenny”
