Castleblayney Hurling manager Jimmy Leacy says that reaching tomorrow’s (Sunday’s) All-Ireland Club Final has helped put hurling on the map within the county.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of tomorrow’s showdown with Dunammaggin, Jimmy says it’s given the sport a huge lift.
“It is, it has given hurling a big lift and it can only do so, and you see reports in National Media about a team from Monaghan and it’s unchartered territory and it’s not a stronghold so It just kind of puts Monaghan hurling on the map”.
Jimmy said “I suppose it brings to light to other counties the fact there is Hurling up here and there is a decent standard and we are hoping to represent ourselves well on Sunday and we are hoping that that can push forward the game in the club and in the county as well”.
