Castlecomer Community School Senior Hurling Selector Pat Tynan says that Saturday’s All-Ireland Colleges Final defeat was very difficult on the squad of players who have given it everything over the past 6 months.
Speaking to KCLR after the defeat against St. Raphaels College of Loughrea, Pat says the best team won despite crucial decisions going against them.
He said “It’s difficult on these boys because they have given everything since October, and training was great and everything else. You don’t know until you hit the pitch on an All-Ireland Final day hows guys react to it and everything else, maybe they were a bit stuck in the first-half”.
“St. Raphaels were very very strong in key positions and maybe we got some yellow cards I don’t know, they didn’t look real physical frees to me, but that goal I suppose changed things before half-time as well but look I can’t fault our boys they kept plugging away plugging away”.
