Evergreen 1-1 Boyle Celtic (AET) Evergreen win 4-2 on penalties
Evergreen have booked themselves a date at the Aviva Stadium on May 13th where they will play Champions Sheriff in the FAI Junior Cup Final.
Packie Holden’s charges overcame Boyle Celtic 4-2 on Penalties in the Semi Final at the Showgrounds in Sligo yesterday after the sides couldn’t be separated after extra time which finished a goal a piece.
Danny Browne gave Boyle the lead in the first half from a penalty after the impressive Des Carlos was fouled by Holden, but Mikey Drennan equalised during the second half.
In the shootout Tom Earls, Conor English and Daragh Walshe all scored from the spot and an early save from Packie Holden meant that captain Neil Andrews had the chance to send his side on their way.
He duly obliged and emotional scenes erupted all over The Showgrounds on a famous day for Kilkenny Soccer.
It was an exciting day in the Commentary box for Myself and Gavin Cawley and you can listen back to all the action below.
