Carlow Senior Football Manager Turlough O’Brien the experience of playing teams at a higher level in Championship the past two years has stood to them greatly.
Carlow began life in Division 3 of the National League with a convincing victory at home to Sligo yesterday, and speaking to KCLR after the game, Turlough says that confidence is very high among the squad right now.
He told KCLR Sport “I think the experience of the last two years in the Championship against some Division One Teams have stood to the team because not only have they performed well, but it was very good for their confidence and good for their growth of the team”.
“The team has really come on and these guys are a very experienced bunch, there is a lot of players there with a lot of League and Championship games under their belt at this stage, and they have come through a barren period for Carlow” said Turlough”.
“Now they are at the top of the game at the moment and they want to get the maximum out of the game at the minute. They are in a great place mentally, physically, psychologically and they are really up for this Division Three” he said.
