Former Champion Jockey Christy Roche says that the late Walter Swinburn was one of the good guys of the sport.
Walter who won the Epsom Derby three times passed away on Tuesday, and speaking to KCLR, Christy says that Walter kept a low profile.
“Walter was just a lovely guy. In his young days we traveled around the world and places like India together. He was always very quiet, very reserved. He would have kept to himself quite a lot but he was a wonderful rider. Yeah, he was a lovely guy. The name(nickname) the Choir Boy. It’s typical because he was so quiet and kept himself a lot and he was a very very quiet man”
