City derby sees Dicksboro claim U19A hurling title in Kilkenny

Dicksboro are the Revise.ie Kilkenny Under 19A hurling champions for 2022, beating James Stephens 2-16 to 1-13.

Dicksboro have added more silverware to their Palmerstown trophy display by claiming the Revise.ie U19A hurling title in Kilkenny and bring their season to a close.

In a closely-contested first half, Cillian Hackett hit 1-1 in injury time to give the ‘Boro a 1-9 to 1-4 lead at the break on Sunday afternoon at UPMC Nowlan Park.

The Village kept in touch through the early exchanges in the second half with Stephen Manogue keeping the scoreboard ticking over, cutting the gap to a single point approaching the midway point before Timmy Clifford hit the back of the net to return Dicksboro’s advantage to four points.

With two points between the sides and three minutes of normal time left to play, Dicksboro hit four unanswered points from Sean Keenan, James Carroll, Mikey Stynes and Nick Doheny to close out proceedings 2-16 to 1-13.
