Clara Senior Hurler David Langton says it was frustrating that there was no competitive Club Hurling played during the Summer months when the weather was so good.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday nights clash against St. Patricks Ballyragget, David says they are on the back foot after losing their first match.
“Ah I suppose the gap hasn’t been ideal for anyone. We have had a fantastic Summer and I suppose playing no hurling games it’s a bit of a pain when all you want to do is get out and play in the good weather.
“We have been kind of tipping away over the Summer and I suppose there was no certainty until Kilkenny got knocked out and once they got knocked out, it was time to put the shoulder to the wheel and get our head down.
“The gap probably hasn’t been ideal, but I suppose the Championship kind of starts from here. It’s just we kind of start on the back foot after losing our first one I suppose,” he said.
Clara take on St Patricks Ballyragget Saturday at 7pm in Jenkinstown.
