While football is still going in Carlow with the under 20 championships drawing to a close, there’s just one club matter left to be decided in Kilkenny.

Update: This game has been refixed for the new year and will not take place this weekend.

Original story.

This Sunday, Conahy Shamrocks and James Stephens will finally meet for their senior JJ Kavanagh and Sons senior football relegation final, the game set to go ahead at midday in Jenkinstown, giving you plenty of time to get back to the radio to catch Ballyhale Shamrocks take on Ballygunner at 3.30pm.

Both sides started their senior football championship journey back on 1 April, Conahy beaten by Danesfort 0-12 to 0-06 with the Village bowing out after a first-round clash with Mooncoin.

Both clubs also finished bottom of their respective groups in the senior football league, each failing to register a win.

Mullinavat reclaimed their Kilkenny senior football crown from Thomastown in May, falling at the semi-final stages of the Leinster intermediate club football championship at the hands of St. Mogue’s of Wexford.
