IT Carlow had a mid-week game to contend with before another on the weekend gone.
On Wednesday last (23 February), they were in action against Fr. Mathews in the Miss Quote Super League where they lost out 73-80.
Fr. Mathews staged a huge comeback win, being down 53-36 at the interval.
Shannon Brady and Aisling McCann both shot 21, as Gráinne Dwyer hit 14. For IT Carlow, it was Alyssa Velles who led the charts with 24, followed by Lauren LaPlant (16) and Ava Coogan (15).
Then on Sunday, DCU Mercy got the better of IT Carlow in the weekend’s final MissQuote.ie Super League game, on a scoreline of 84-66.
The top scorers for DCU Mercy were Bailey Greenberg (20), Alarie Mayze (20) and Nicole Clancy (12). As for IT Carlow, Lauren LaPlant headed the scoring with 23, followed by Alyssa Velles (19) and Miah Ryan (12).
Miss Quote Division One
Marble City Hawks were beaten 38-74 by the Portlaoise Panthers.
It was another big win for Portlaoise as they took charge of the game.
Lisa Blaney top-scored for Portlaoise Panthers with 14, followed by Ciara Wheeler on 13. As for Marble City Hawks, the top scorers were Fiona Whitely (14), Ann Prendergast (11), and Sally Teahan (6).

Fr. Mathews came out on top of a dramatic encounter against IT Carlow on Sunday.
It took overtime to eventually win 86-97 after the sides were tied at 82 each after four quarters.
Jonathan Garcia (24) top-scored for the winners, followed closely by Diego O’Herlihy (22) and Brian O’Neill (21).
As for IT Carlow, Armands Vaikuls hit 23, Kevin Donohoe finished up on 20, while Nate Shafer contributed 14.
