Kilkenny and Waterford made the trip to Croke Park on Sunday afternoon, serving up on of the finest games of hurling this season.
While neither side could come away with the victory, there will be few who will disagree that the sport itself was the big winner on Sunday.
For their part, Waterford took the game to Kilkenny right from the off pushed Kilkenny all the way towards 70 minutes before Colin Fennelly and Walter Walsh combined for a late Kilkenny goal to deny the Deise a berth – for now – in this year’s All-Ireland senior hurling final.
For 68 mins @WaterfordGAA held KK under the water but they allowed them up for air & it cost them the win some game of hurling

Rather than make the trip back to Dublin again next weekend with Galway and Tipperary set to do battle on Sunday, the replay between Kilkenny and Waterford has been fixed for Saturday evening with a 6.45pm throw-in.

At time of writing, the GAA is “exploring the possibility” of combining the fixture with those of the Camogie Association’s semi-finals which pits Kilkenny’s seniors against Galway while Cork and Wexford also go head-to-head.
What a game oh what a game. It had everything 👏👏👏👏👏#KKvWAT
