Kilkenny Minor Football Manager DJ Carey was happy with the effort and performance shown in last night’s Leinster Championship game against Louth in Nowlan Park.
Kilkenny lost out 3-16 to 3-8, and speaking to KCLR, DJ says they can take plenty of positives from the game.
He said “Very good, very competitive, pretty skillful. Anyone that was at it would have seen that. We had a couple of chances there for a couple of goals in either half that their goalkeeper made a couple of really good saves so it could have been very close”.
“I think with about 12 minutes to go, there was three points in the game, they went up the field and got a goal and then we brought it back down again to four points and they got another goal towards the end so it was tight, it was good, it was very competitive, but we have been together for three years since these guys were Under-14 so we plodded along nice and quietly and I suppose most people didn’t realize it was still going on”.
