At 8.30am on Monday morning we’ll know the outcome of the draw for the Round 2B (Football) and Round 1 (Hurling) stages of this year’s All-Irelands.

Football: Carlow

Carlow, having edged London by a single point on Sunday afternoon, find themselves in the mix for Round 2B of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championships.

They’ll be joined in pot one alongside Wexford, the winners of Cavan/Offaly and the winners of Armagh/Fermanagh. On the other side of the draw will be Westmeath, Monaghan, Tipperary and Leitrim.

The four games will take place this coming weekend, 1/2 July. A separate draw will be made for home advantage and where two teams have met previously in this year’s provincial championship the winner of the provincial game shall have home advantage.

Hurling: Kilkenny

Carlow miss out on a place in the draw having been edged by Laois at the death in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise on Sunday in our second live game of the day.

As such, Laois join the three Munster teams in the draw – Tipperary, Limerick and Waterford. On the other side of the draw will be Kilkenny, in the Leinster pot, alongside Offaly, Dublin and Westmeath.

With a lot of fans on the ground hoping for a first round meeting in Nowlan Park against Tipperary, any match for Kilkenny should serve up a spectacle.

Again, a separate draw will be made for home advantage. This draw is subject to the avoidance of repeat pairings, so Laois v Westmeath will not be permitted as a tie should they be drawn out.

Confirmation of venues, times and dates for all fixtures will be confirmed following a meeting of C.C.C.C on Monday afternoon.
