Kilkenny natives Ellen Molloy and Karen Duggan find themselves in the running for this year’s FAI WNL end of season awards.
Duggan got her name on the scoresheet with a fine headed effort in the FAI Women’s Senior Cup Final on Saturday last, her Peamount United side putting six goals past Cork City in a second-half drubbing. Duggan was a key part of the Peamount side that completed the league and cup double for 2020.
Molloy too has had a fine season. While her club trade is with Wexford Youths these days, she’s broken into the Republic of Ireland senior women’s team this year, earning her first caps as part of their Euro’s qualifying campaign.
Duggan and Molloy were also recipients this season of the Barrettstown/WNL Player of the Month award.
