Five people were sent off in one of Carlows Senior hurling semi finals yesterday in Netwatch Cullen Park.
The game was marred by an ugly brawl in the final minute which saw four Naomh Eoin players and one Mt. Leinster Rngs player receive straight red cards.
Mt. Leinster Rngs and St. Mullins will contest this year’s Carlow senior hurling final after wins over Naomh Eoin and Ballinkillen respectively in the J.J. Kavanagh & Sons senior hurling championship semi-finals yesterday.
Mt. Leinster Rngs cruised to an easy victory over Naomh Eoin they led by 4-6 to 0-5 at half time and finished twenty point winners 5-15 to 1-7.
St. Mullins were in no mood to hand up their senior hurling crown as they defeated Ballinkillen by three points in the second semi-final.
St. Mullins led by 1-8 to 0-7 at half time and opened up an eight point lead midway through the last half but Ballinkillen rallied in the closing minutes with two goals and reduced the lead to three points but time ran out
Final Score – St. Mullins 1-17, Ballinkillen 2-11.
The J.J. Kavanagh intermediate hurling championship final replay between Naomh Eoin and Mt. Leinster Rngs served up a thriller too.
The final score was Mt. Leinster Rngs 0-14, Naomh Eoin 1-9.
Mt. Leinster Rngs and Ballinkillen will contest the minor hurling championship final as they defeated Naomh Eoin and Erins Own respectively
Tinryland won their seventh under 21 football championship title defeating Palatine in the final on Saturday.
