It promises to be both a special and emotional day in the Pococke Golf Centre on Sunday as the Footgolf Association of Ireland’s Tour reaches Kilkenny for its sixth event of the year.
The competition is aptly named the ‘John Holmes Memorial’ following the sad passing of the owner of the course, John Holmes, late last year after a battle with cancer.
With the sport offering a competitive edge and social aspect that is unrivalled, there is no better way to get your footgolf journey started than by signing up for Sunday’s event.

There are a whole host of local players from both Carlow and Kilkenny involved as well as a number of men, women and juniors from all four provinces who have represented their country on home turf and abroad.
From playing in foreign countries to pulling on the Irish jersey, the opportunities are endless when it comes to footgolf, and with Kilkenny being widely regarded as one of the best courses on the island, Sunday’s competition will almost certainly be the best way to kickstart a hobby with friends or find a new passion.
The competition begins at 10am and you can find out more details and register by going to the Footgolf Association of Ireland’s Facebook page right here.
