Former Cork star Fenton feels Sunday’s game with Kilkenny will really tell where Galway are at

John Fenton

Former Cork Senior Hurler John Fenton says Sunday’s Championship game between Galway and Kilkenny will be a bigger game for the Westerners.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of next Sunday’s game, John says the match will tell more where Galway are at.

“Kilkenny are where they are and they are live contenders. I think Galway will learn more from next Sunday than what Kilkenny will because it will tell them where they are at and where their preparations, and where their celebrations are and where their minds are after their victory of last year.

“I think Micheal O’Donoghue will probably learn more from next Sunday about his own team than Brian Cody will about Kilkenny.

“He knows about Kilkenny and they need a wake up call, so I think next Sunday’s game irrespective of the result will be of a bigger benefit to Galway than to Kilkenny,” he said.
