Kilkenny & District League Chairman John Corrigan says that Freebooters Founder Member John Doyle will be a huge loss to football after he passed away over the weekend.
Speaking to KCLR, John said that he will be irreplaceable.
He said “Anyone who refereed on the Fair Green would remember John Doyle, he is one of the founder members of Booters, he was a true blue all his life”.
“It’s a big loss to his family first of all, Seanie told us there during the Summer that he wasn’t well and he is a loss to football, and he joins a long list of greats that have passed away over the last couple of years and they are never to be replaced”.
