Freebooters manager David Butler says their has been massive progression this season.
Booters will look to finish the season with silverware when they play Thomastown United in this weekends Premier Division Cup Final and speaking to KCLR, David says they have been showing the effects of a grueling season which has lasted almost a full year….
“I think last year we finish 20 odd points behind Evergreen so this year just to finish the point, and having a chance of beating them at home to win the League is massive progression to tell you the truth”
“It was all good up to January or so, but things have started to slow down because we had a lot of lack of games and trying to keep lads going and motivated was tough so I think that kind of played havoc on our games”
“It’s been a long season, since last July and we are still going now in June so it’s taken a lot out of players but the key is hopefully to get the win Saturday and then if you look back it wouldn’t be a bad season at all”
