Marco Reus got Germany off the mark on 14 minutes with the assist going to new Chelsea signing Timo Werner. Turkey were on the backfoot a quarter of the way through the game. The game was strolling on to half time before Reus finally did add to his goal scoring tally with a well placed effort after Goretzka did brilliant well to create the space. It was two nil going down the tunnels, and as expected Turkeys back was up against the wall.
Second half started much like the first with Gnarby combing well with Werner to pretty much book their place in the quarters. Werner himself got on the score sheet with an outstanding effort that bounced off the post and into the net. Turkey rallied at the end up it was way too late.
