Kilkenny forward John Walsh says they got a bollocking at half-time after a lackluster first-half performance.

They now play Munster champions Clare on the 6th August.

Speaking after the game, John said they dug-deep following the managers words at half-time…..

“Ah it was a good aul win yeah. We had to dig deep now, Wexford came at us the first-half, we didn’t expect it now to be honest”

“They came at us 100% and luckily enough we just barely got over the line in the end”

“Breeze hadn’t much effect on it now. It’s just we just didn’t get going is all in the first-half and made it look a lacklustre for us in the first-half, but we dug deep now in fairness 2nd half, and got a bit of a bollicking off Pat O’Grady at half-time so get our head now ourselves and get on it”

Meanwhile Luke Hickey says that the changes Kilkenny made in last nights Leinster Intermediate Final victory over Wexford proves they have the strength to their panel.

Speaking to KCLR after the game, Luke says that Kilkenny never panicked despite trailing for most of the game…..

“Yeah, we made it hard on ourselves anyway in the first-half, but I suppose we pulled it together last 10 minutes of the game really and took away from there”

“Changes worked, few injuries, few lads kind of couldn’t really get into the game but lads that came on showed it is a panel, it is a good panel we have and we can drive it on from here”

“No, we weren’t worried at all, we knew if we kind of got going, really got going at all like we would have put it up to them again and pulled it back so we just needed to kind of raised it that 10% and thankfully we did”
