Kilkenny handballer Ducksy Walsh is calling for more support for the sport in the county.
The local man picked up what was his 38th Senior All Ireland at the weekend at a competition in Kilkenny but he says theres promising young players in the county but they’re not getting the help they need.
Ducksy says training needs to be improved…
In 60×30, probably GAA handball is not doing enough for us, you know theres not many coaching clinics going on around the country.
You know I’d say about our county board, probably that there’s not enough coaching going on now, there is coaching going on within the county, within clubs but i mean i personally don’t think our county board would be doing enough coaching.
Its always left to the clubs, you know that’s probably not right, you know if we have a development officer, or we have a juvenile officer, to me that would be for them to organise coaching within the county and not leaving it up to the clubs.
