Kilkenny Intermediate player Aisling Curtis says not having a championship to play in last year has given them more motivation this season.
The Intermediate championship didn’t go ahead in 2020 as the country was under covid restrictions.
They play Antrim in the All Ireland final on Sunday and Aisling says they’re raring to go.
“I think for a few of us, we’ve been involved with this panel for maybe two or three years, and I feel like this has really been a build-up over these few years to get to the All Ireland”, said Aisling.
“We were unfortunate to be taken out of the competition last year, weren’t able to compete which was a tough one to take at the time, and I think we’ve maybe carried that a little bit this year, we kind of really want to show to the country the momentum that is in the second teams and that we very much deserve to be fighting for our places in the All Ireland which we’ve luckily done this year”.
“So we’re really looking forward to it and showing that on the day”.
We have live commentary of the game here on KCLR and Scoreline on Sunday.
