Clara Senior hurler John Murphy says they showed great heart and courage to fightback from a disastrous start in Saturday’s Senior Quarter-Final against Ballyhale Shamrocks.

Clara trailed 2-2 to 0-0 very early on and speaking to KCLR after the game, John says they were delighted to have got a draw despite not performing well.

“It was a massive comeback from us. We were in that position two weeks ago against Carrickshock and we didn’t play in the 2nd-half so it was great. The lads showed great heart and great courage to comeback.

“Lucky enough, we got two goals, in the right place at the right time and look we have another day.

“We haven’t played well our last three games, we have been down at half-time and we have folded so like we are all delighted to come back and get a draw and could have won it but look hopefully we will put that right next week.

“Well knowing the Shamrocks and their fairly illustrious history, if you miss the chance, they will go down at the other end and finish you off so thank god that they missed their chances,” he said.
