Carlow referee Pamela Hayden says she has got great support with the progression of her refereeing career.

Pamela made history recently when she become the first female official for a County Senior Football Final when she was lineswoman for Eire Og’s three-in-a-row victory over Palatine, and speaking to KCLR, and speaking to KCLR, Pamela outlines how she got involved in refereeing.

She said “A course came up on the County Board, on the Men’s side now, Marty Barry was the organizer of the course, he has been my number one supporter ever since, he has been a great support and he has really mentored me and brought me on and they paired me with Paud O’Dwyer then as well, for every game I could ring him and review my performance, he has come to some of my games and so yeah all of that has really helped”.
