This weekend promises a thrilling lineup on KCLR as we bring you live coverage of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling League, featuring six intense matches. However, all ears in Carlow will be on a different showdown – the eagerly anticipated replay between Bagenalstown Gaels and St. Mullins.

Following their epic clash last weekend, Bagenalstown Gaels and St. Mullins are vying for a spot in the final against Mount Leinster Rangers. The previous match left fans on the edge of their seats, and the replay is expected to be just as riveting.

Former Captain’s Insight

Former Carlow captain James Hickey shared his thoughts on the upcoming game, expressing concern for Bagenalstown Gaels’ chances due to the quick turnaround:

“To go there again so quickly, like if they had had two weeks, they could lift it again. I think St. Mullins will have too much for them, because I think it’ll come too quick for Bagenalstown, missing so many players. Eddie (Scally) knows that.”

Despite his reservations, Hickey praised the previous encounter: “It was a brilliant game of hurling, it was just magical, and it’s all to play for.”
