In the upcoming clash at Glenisk O’Connor Park, Tullamore, Tullogher Rosbercon is set to face Carrig and Riverstown in the junior final.
However, Tullogher Rosbercon manager Michael Doyle has voiced his reservations about the early throw-in time, considering the extensive travel his team has to undertake.
Doyle stated, “O’Connor Park is big and wide, and Tullogher will embrace that, and they’ll relish that; be no issue there.” Despite expressing confidence in his team’s ability to adapt to the playing conditions, he expressed disappointment with the scheduled throw-in time of 1 o’clock.
“I was a bit disappointed; the game is at one o’clock. I felt it could have been pushed back till two or half two to give our lads a bit of a chance,” Doyle remarked. He elaborated on the challenges posed by the considerable travel distance to O’Connor Park, estimating a journey of approximately two and a half hours on a bus.
“We’re not making excuses,” he emphasized. “We just get on with it, and it won’t be an excuse, but I just thought we could have been facilitated a little bit better. It’s an early throw-in, considering the distance that we have to travel.”
Despite the concerns, Doyle conveyed a determined attitude, emphasizing the team’s commitment to facing the challenges head-on. The clash between Tullogher Rosbercon and Carrig and Riverstown promises to be a compelling encounter, with both teams striving for victory in the junior final.
Additionally, supporters can tune in for extensive reports on the game, with Thomastown taking on Bray Emmetts in the intermediate decider at 1 o’clock this Saturday in the live broadcast on KCLR. Echelon Park in Aughrim is set to host the intermediate decider.
