Connacht GAA have confirmed that the FBD League will be an indoor event in 2022 with the Air Dome set to host a number of games.

The impressive indoor arena is situated at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan, Co. Mayo and authorities in the western province have decided to use the facilities for the return of their pre-season competition.

The draw for the competition was made recently and will see four games take place at the facility, the first being a Leitrim side managed by Mayo legend Andy Moran for the first time take on Sligo on January 4.

Roscommon await the winners of that opening round clash in the semi-final one week later while old rivals Mayo and Galway will kick of their 2022 intercounty campaigns on Friday January 7 in a repeat of last year’s exhilarating Connacht final.

The final of the competition is scheduled for the following Friday, January 14.

Each county will be allowed to have a maximum of 26 players in their matchday panels with all players eligible to see some game time.

FBD League fixtures 2022:

Preliminary Round – Leitrim vs Sligo (Tuesday 4 January).

Semi-Finals – Mayo vs Galway (Friday 7 January), Leitrim/Sligo vs Roscommon (Saturday 8 January).

Final – Friday 14 January
