Former Republic of Ireland Junior International Billy Walsh says that the Republic of Ireland are nowhere near the standard of Switzerland and Denmark.
Speaking to KCLR after last night’s 2-0 defeat to Switzerland in the Euro 2020 Qualifier, Billy says the harsh reality is that Ireland are not good enough.
He said “We are nowhere near Denmark and Switzerland, that’s the reality”.
“Unless some miracle happens in the Aviva that we have a change in philosophy or a style of football, I just can’t see where it will happen, I am not been pessimistic or negative in any way, I am just been realistic and we are just not good enough, not coached well enough, I would worry for them against Denmark again because Denmark will probably be playing free”.
