All Ireland Champions Dublin Won’t Be Coming To Netwatch Cullen Park

Netwatch Cullen Park

Carlow Senior Footballers WILL NOT be facing Dublin At Netwatch Cullen Park in next years Leinster Championship even if they beat Wexford in the first round.

Should Carlow beat Wexford then they will play Dublin at Portlaoise, however if Wexford win then they will have home advantage at Innovate Wexford Park.

It will be the second year in a row that the Dubs will be on the road after they beat Laois at Nowlan Park this year.

The decision will surely make heads roll among Carlow supporters, however it’s widely speculated that Netwatch Cullen Park would not have the required number of seats needed to host the Dubs as the grounds is mainly terraced as opposed to seated.

However a fair chunk of Innovate Wexford Park is also terraced, but the stand would be that bit bigger.

It would have been nice to have seen the Dubs come down to Newatch Cullen Park, but before that thought is even considered Carlow have to actually beat Wexford first – Less we Forget!

The Prize of playing Dublin in Netwatch Cullen Park however would have been a serious incentive but all is not lost as the winners will still get a crack at them.
